Working to ensure all New Yorkers are able to power the future and benefit from the investments and opportunities provided by this historic transition.

We must first acknowledge that there are communities within New York that have been historically overburdened by environmental pollution (opens in new window) if we are to make meaningful changes to benefit our climate and our economy. Today, those same communities are on the frontlines of climate change. Ensuring equity and inclusion in our climate actions means New York will ensure that all communities, but especially populations within disadvantaged communities (opens in new window), will benefit from the State’s investments and opportunities, including reducing pollution and creating new jobs and economic opportunities.

Opportunities for All New Yorkers in Our Fight Against Climate Change

The Climate Act mandates that no less than 35% with a goal of at least 40% of our climate action benefits will go toward New York’s disadvantaged communities. By working closely with communities (opens in new window) and equity experts, our climate work aims to address the challenges and barriers these communities are facing.

Our Regional Clean Energy Hubs are bringing resources and opportunities directly to communities. Connect with a Hub in your area to speak with a trusted local expert about clean energy careers, home improvements, even rebates for businesses and personal transportation.
